GRStudios stands for Golden Ratio Studios. Our Logo contains a Greek letter called a “phi”, that denotes the “Golden Ratio” (mathematical constant 1.618 - also known as the Divine Proportion, among other names).
The golden ratio is used in game development to create interesting asymmetric compositions. For us, that meant the right combination of gaming mixed with Indic storytelling, which is why we are called Golden Ratio Studios, or GRStudios for short!
GRStudios is synonymous with Indic storytelling and a feel-good wholesome gaming experience.
What is Indic Storytelling?
By now, you must be wondering what Indic stories are. Well, by definition, one can define Indic as inspiration taken from the culture, language and heritage of the Indian subcontinent, China, Southeast Asia, Japan.
Indic stories are stories or tales that have originated from these geographies and are strongly influenced by their culture.
Why Is Indic Storytelling So Important to Us?
Indic, for us, is not just about a particular geography, a specific ideology or a cultural background. Indic represents the very fabric of the lives of people, their essence richly concentrated in every story, the shades of culture gleaming by glancing through the folds of time.
We at GRStudios believe that every person, every young child whose life is being moulded according to the realms of society today should have an opportunity to embrace the richness of the Indic stories that transcend the laws of time.
Why Gaming?
As a medium to disseminate these little marbles of ancient wisdom, gaming is the most suitable for this pursuit. Colourful, an escape from everyday life, and incredibly interactive – gaming is a solace for those with a busy lifestyle. It is also a booming industry, with more people picking up new games to play, especially for mobile gaming.
Our Main Quest
We at GRStudios wish to bring alive Indic stories for audiences all over the world, regardless of age in a wholesome and meaningful way.
By doing so, people who resonate with these stories can come together, much like a village would sit together in the evenings and listen to tales of old narrated by the wise and warm granny.
Our Dream Team
Our team has Unity developers, 3D artists, graphic designers, level designers, a designated QA team, an in-house infrastructure team and sound engineers to ensure that our games are easily available and provide a seamless gameplay experience.
What’s GRStudios Upto Next?
Indic Ludo is out in the market as the first title in the GRS game suite. Word on the street is the next one is an RPG with some very cool characters (shh!). Stay tuned to find out more, and if we see you often enough, you might even be one of the very first people to get access to it!
